I am a Marine Biologist and Geographer with a passion for understanding how oceans and land change over time. My academic journey has taken me from fieldwork in Mexico where I studied corals, fish, and paleobiology, to graduate research in the Northern Gulf of Mexico, where my thesis reconstructed the past vegetation of a submerged Late Pleistocene bald cypress forest through sediment core and pollen analysis.

Along the way, I have developed strong expertise in GIS, spatial analysis, and data science tools, applying them to both environmental research and professional work in infrastructure and risk assessment. I’m particularly interested in how geospatial modeling and data-driven approaches can illuminate marine and coastal systems, past and present.

This blog is where I share my work, from mapping projects and ecological research to explorations in ocean modeling and paleoenvironmental reconstruction. Ultimately, my goal is to contribute to the growing field of marine data science, bridging biology, geography, and computational methods to better understand and protect our oceans♥
